+Pat in Louisiana Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I have been using etrex GPSRs for years. Right now I'm on my third and it is a Legend HCx. I was complaining to the wife that the rubber was coming loose and now she wants to get ma a Colorado like hers or an Oregon for Christmas. I think I like my etrex better. What would you do? Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) Get one of each, all three. If you have had hands on experience with the Colorado and still like the etrex better, go with your heart. Edited November 3, 2008 by BlueDeuce Quote
+hukilaulau Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 . What would you do? I would happily accept a present given by someone who loved me. I would have fun with it and see if my willingness to try something new might have rewards that I never would have anticipated. Quote
+briansnat Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) Call Garmin. If it's still under warranty they will fix it. If it's not they may still fix it for free. They've been known to do that, especially if you press the matter saying that it's a known problem. After that don't leave the unit in your hot car during the summer. Once I stopped doing that, the glue problem with my eTrex units disappeared. Edited November 3, 2008 by briansnat Quote
+stagunner Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) Complain to her that the old cache buggy has some very bad problems.. Maybe you will get a nice new Jeep All in all. I would accept the offer of the new one,, use the old one as the antenna for your laptop,, have a great caching day Edited November 3, 2008 by stagunner Quote

Keystone Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I am moving this thread from the Geocaching Topics forum to the GPS and Technology forum. Quote
+StarBrand Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Get the Oregon. or Get the Colorado. ....then go and get the eTrex fixed... Quote
+KJcachers Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 The first thing I would do is learn to use a better description on your topic title. That way others will know what your thread is about before opening it. After that I would listen to those who have firsthand knowledge of the units in question or be a gadget guy like me and get the Oregon...or the Colorado...or a DeLorme PN-40! Quote
+Pat in Louisiana Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 (edited) Looks like I don't need to learn anything KJ You read it didn't you! Edited November 4, 2008 by Pat in Louisiana Quote
+KJcachers Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 pet peeve of mine is all. so many threads with "help" or "I need some advice" type topic titles without anything specific. I you had listed something detailed then maybe somebody who had in depth knowledge of that product would be interested in opening your thread but now may just skip over it because of the generic topic. Just trying to help and I opened it because I don't really have a life and read most threads! Quote

Just trying to help and I opened it because I don't really have a life and read most threads! Another GOOD reason to choose an accurate descriptive title is . . . THE SEARCH ENGINE! If, by good fortune your question is solved (more often than not), perchance another, following your footsteps could have their queries solved w/considerably less effort. Norm Quote
