:grin:Hey there all Western Cape cachers!

The Greyton Rose Festival is taking place this coming weekend.

The Trickies are helping in this fund raising venture. I will be helping at the pancake stand and Andre will be helping Vic to braai. It will be great if some cachers could pop by and help us support this day. There are plenty of caches in the vicinity and lots of really top class places to eat and of course pancakes and braai! Hoping to see many of you there.:D:D

Unfortunately didn't see any cachers there. Maybe next year some of them will come up to spend some time in this beautiful village and at the same time support a worthy cause.

We were way too busy helping the Trickies with pancakes and braaiing to see the roses!

On our way out of Greyton (at lightning speed, due to the fact that one of us needed to get home in time for the rugby ;) ) I did glimpse some beautiful roses in some private gardens.

Greyton Rose Fair was a wonderful weekend - our little village was alive with lots and lots of people and fantastic events too.

The theme this year was 'Greyton as a Wedding Venue' - the Churches were all decorated for weddings and the restuarants and hotels all had similar type events. There were dinners and music concerts, and a Thanksgiving Interdenominational Church Service on the Sunday too

The Rose Show was spectacular and the open gardens around the village were beautiful too.

The Saturday market was wonderful - we were responsible for 700 boerewors rolls - all lovingly braaied by Vic & Andre; 800 pancakes where Jeanne played a huge role; 200 hamburgers; 230 bacon & egg rolls; tea, coffee, gingerbeer, colddrinks, cakes and the list goes on and on! Folk come from afar to sell their wares and there were over 800 rose bushes for sale.

The Rose Fair is staged annually by the Greyton Seniors' Club to raise funds for meals for the needy and is always the last weekend in October - start planning your caching trip to the Overberg for next year right now! We would love to have you here! ;)

A special word of thanks must go to Cownchicken who certainly worked incredibly hard - you both are very special friends and we do appreciate your very willing help :)
