60Csx vs. 70Csx?

I bought a 76Csx (Amazon, great price) and so far it works well, at least as far as I an tell as a Newbie. I see the 60Csx is very popular, and am just curious--- is there any significant difference between the two? It seems like they use almost the same electronics and screen...

I believe they have different antennas (helix vs. ceramic/patch) and the 76CSx floats where the 60CSx doesn't. Other than that there isn't much of a difference at all. From everything I've read most people just have a preference of how it feels in your hand or how it looks.

You are mistaken. They both have exactly the same antenna.

Functionally, no.

 

I believe the reason the 60 series is more popular is primarily because a lot of people like the way the 60 fits in their hand. To a lesser extent, it may be because Garmin markets the 76 as a marine unit. (The only thing that makes it any more marine than the 60 is that it floats.)

When I was looking to buy last year, the 76CSx was cheaper. Since they are both basically the same unit (except for form factor), I went for the 76. Great unit that I have been very happy with.
