+weathernowcast
Here is the Caching Through The Snow #5 EVENT PAGE. Here is the coin design I am working on for the event. It will be a 1.75 inch coin. It will NOT be trackable - it's a tough economy and this will help keep the coin cost down. I will have 100 made. Let me know your interest - event attendees have dibs. I want two coins! Quote Link to comment

+Quoddy
I'll be with you in mind and spirit, but unfortunately not in body. While you're caching and eating that wonderful food I'll be meditating at the nearby Rahob Dharma Center. I don't even need to wish you all a great time since that goes without saying at this event every year. Quote Link to comment

polskikrol
I have not read all of the posts very thoroughly but I believe we have the following for the morning 7AM hike: polskikrol thirstymick packanak The plan is to meet up with the rest of the gang at 9AM and to use the extra 2 hours to pick up some of the caches in the further reaches of the park. Alternatively, we can pick to focus on one area. Quote Link to comment

+Team Niva
What a Great Morning! My First Geocaching event. Team Gold whipped my behind and added 20 finds to my count before it was all said and done. My Tracking recorded 6 miles in 4 hours parking lot to parking lot. I never made it back to the meeting place to pick up my stocking though. I definitely learned alot about competitive Geocaching. Don't bring a backpack loaded with goodies and supplies. Don't over dress. Get a good nights sleep. Thanks Much Team Rampant Lion and the Gold Team. Edited December 7, 2008 by jniva Quote Link to comment
marikun
Well... *I* wasn't able to make it to the meetup, but it looks like my travel bug did! Thanks mmacgown. Edited December 7, 2008 by marikun Quote Link to comment
polskikrol
Kevin - thanks for another spectacular event! The early morning fire at the ruins with the stockings was a really nice touch. Had lots of fun hiking around and being co-FTF with the crew waiting at the front door of Krogh's until they opened up. Geocoins came out great! Hope that this tradition continues and you will be around for #6! Quote Link to comment
+brian b
The GOLD team cleaned the park of all 20 caches before the lunch. What a great place. The food, beveages and frienship at Kroghs were excellent. And the after lunch hike added 10 more caches to the stats. Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
You missed Pondering?!? Tsk tsk tsk. Quote Link to comment
+captainmath
Brian, now it all makes sense. We were the GOLD team last year when we cleaned out the entire area and came back with a crazy bunch of finds. And of course we were late to the rendezvous and to lunch on the way. (My kids still love the trophy.) Looks like you kept all of those Gold Team traditions going... and you were still able to get a seat right away and food in front of you in record time! You're amazing! Kevin, thanks again for all the time and hard work you put into making this event the amazing success it is! The stockings hung around the fire at the pre-event meeting spot made for a really memorable start to a great day. Thanks for making CTTS the great tradition it has become for us! +WaylessWood
You missed Pondering?!? Tsk tsk tsk. I'm not sure what happened to Brian's track log, but we pondered about attempting Pondering on several occasions. A last minute decision when the right parking and approach were spotted and we went for it. Great fun. Edited December 8, 2008 by WaylessWood Quote Link to comment
+hallycat
The Long Island crew (Queens is really part of LI) had a great time!! Thanks so much Kevin and crew. The stockings were adorable. We got home pretty late and I am not even going to attempt to log the caches but suffice to say we had a great morning hike and then another afternoon hike plus the in between lunch and seeing old buddies and making some new ones. Good luck and very sorry to see you guys leave the area. Barb Quote Link to comment
+Team Rampant Lion
Boy, it always takes me a few days to recover from this event. I really enjoy setting it up and adding the special details but as usual, I went home and needed a siesta. But everything worked out great. I want to thank treequest for jumping in to help ID the location, hide some additional caches and even getting up early to get the fire going. Also thanks to my daughter TRL Pink Panther for getting up early to help with the set-up and lugging the supplies in and out of the forest. Thanks to everyone who chipped in to give the TRL team a Kroghs gift card. It was much appreciated and I was touched by your thought. As soon as we get a sense of our ultimate outcome (going to San Francisco or not), we'll let you know. All the best and Happy Holidays! PS - I have remaining coins in case you did not get one at the event. Quote Link to comment
