+zinnia123 Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Hi, How do you convert UTM to normal GPS coordinates.? I have a Garmin legend HXc The coords look like this IOU 47******E 5*******N With out giving the location away, I want to be able to convert them to normal gps. Thanks.. jmundinger Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Based on your description, it sounds like you have the location setup using UTM coordinates. You want to switch to degrees, minutes, decimal minutes. Main Menu < Setup < Units Setup < Position Format select hddd mm.mmm Quote
+Map Monkey Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 (edited) Another good option (as your explanation is not clear as to what/why you want to achieve), if you don't have the Lat/Long coords for the waypoint (some multi/puzzle caches may list them with UTM etc), is FIRTLY to change the position format to UTM/UPS under the Units page in Setup menu. Then enter the coordinates listed in your post, then goto as normal. If you want to see them as Lat/Longs (DDMM.MMM), then just change the position format accordingly and that waypoint will be displayed in the respective format. Too easy. Hope this helps. mm Edited October 10, 2008 by Map Monkey Quote

And I have only been out a few times with my gps and finding the my way around it. I hoped that it was going to be that easy switching the coords; and here I thought the puzzle was tough... Quote
