+pigpen4x4
I bought one, returned it when it said the nearest anything (Home Depot, Radio Shack Etc.) was the next state over. The Tech support suggested I find these places and enter them manually. Uh, no. PP4x4 Quote Link to comment
Dosido
I have a Digiwalker C230 - works very well in the car - haven't skinned it for geocaching, so I can't speak to that, but it's not bad as far as car nav goes. I did dowload the 'high' POI state files, as well as the Canada maps for the unit. Quote Link to comment
+TeamWolfie
Is there anyone who uses mio? We're using a Mio DigiWalker C510 and an Apple iPhone. We find the iPhone has GPS trouble in valleys and city areas where there are tall buildings, but the Mio is always very accurate. Quote Link to comment
shoman89
I used a hacked C310x for the first 50-60 caches I found. It worked ok and was accurate. I now have an Oregon 400t and find it much easier to use. The Mio isn't water proof and it is a pain to get data into it. You also have to be moving before the mio knows direction because it doesn't have a compass. If you can patch it to be able to turn off some antenna features that aren't in the menu, it becomes a little better for walking. Turn off the "keep position on road" setting and turn it to pedestrian make a huge difference. Quote Link to comment
CCHHunter
I've recently starting Geocaching and use a Mio Digiwalker C520. My only complaint is the fact that if you look at your current coordinates, they don't update too quickly so you have to spend a few minutes trying to figure out if you are 'hot' or 'cold'. Also no built in compass on mine, suggest grabbing a compass but overall it does the job for me Quote Link to comment
