You suspect the schematic is the reason you can't charge it? Or you think your cable is broken and want to put a meter on some of the pins?

I think this described the standard USB pin-outs as well as the super-top-secret RS-232 mode that's not supposed to exist on the Explorist line :ph34r:

I wanted to ohm out the cable. as expected it is bad. the link you gave was what i was looking for.

bad cable? as in you couldnt salvage it? i wonder of i taye the 'Y' apart of i can reattach the ends of the wires--the most likely problem source.
