Mr'D
I have been using this PDA for a few months now and I am generally very pleased with it. I do however have a problem with an intermittent on/off switch. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Some SE Caching members use this PDA and a couple of us have identified the same problem. Does anyone else have a similar problem? We are thinking it's just a dirty switch? Jon Quote Link to comment
The HERB5
My IpaQ did the same, I just use the power-save instead. i.e. it turns itself off in 3 mins... Quote Link to comment
hiho9
i have the rx5935 i think and mine either takes a few presses to come on or doesn't go off Quote Link to comment
Mad H@ter
Yup, same here. No problems turning it off but I often have to give it two or more presses for it to go on. Quote Link to comment
molfrew-mosstoad
Same here on the Ipaq and I know of 3 others that all need more than one press to turn on,on occasions. Never had any trouble shutting it down though. I guess its a standard problem be nice if they fixed it though Edited to add mine has done this from new so not sure if it could be a dirty switch Edited September 17, 2008 by molfrew-mosstoad Quote Link to comment
The Bongtwashes
I've got one of these too, and found that if I press the on switch and then tap the screen it starts immediately Quote Link to comment

keehotee
Had the same problem on last 3 ipaq's- this time on an hx 2490. If I recall, it's not a faulty switch - it's the fact that the screen occassionally takes a little time to display - so you switch on, nothing appears to happen, so you press the switch again - which actually turns it back off.......and so on Quote Link to comment

DR. Ape
I've recently had to repair the usb connector on my Ipaq and found this company to be very good. http:www.ipaqrepair.co.uk Edited September 5, 2011 by DR. Ape Quote Link to comment
drdick&vick
Had a similar problem with an Acer PDA I have, it wouldnt react to the on/off switch at all and I used the auto off function. Decided t try and sort it out so gave the onn/off switch a spray with some electrical switch cleaner and all sorted, it now switches on and off without any problems. Quote Link to comment
PopUpPirate
I used to have this problem, it took an age to find the switch and then when I did I was apparently pressing it too hard. Quote Link to comment
