How long to install maps?

I am trying to install only the state on Minnesota from City Navigator 2009 NT on my Oregon 300? How long should I take this to load? MapInstall initially says 8 hours. After 12 hours, it says that I have 6 hours left and then ends up saying that my GPS unit is not connected even though it is.

I've never have install a full version of City Nav before, but even 8 hours doesn't sound right for just one state. My upgrade to 2009 from 2007 for the whole US took only 2-3 hours on a nuvi.

Those numbers sound about like what I experienced when I installed Topo 2008 on my 60CSx. After that I learned that it was exponentially faster to put the SD card in a USB 2.0 card reader. It could transfer the entire City Nav NT 2009 in under 10 minutes. It took a bit longer to prep the maps for download, but I seem to remember that the who process took less than an hour...

I have 2008 NT and it took about 12 minutes for the state of California to download into my 60csx.

Let me clarify that those times were using a Windows system. I have not attempted to install maps on my Colorado using my Mac. I may try that this weekend, just to test though...
