GeoBobC Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Why is the 76CSx cheaper than the 60CSx? It appears they have very similar specs. Quote
+JBnW Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 Why is the 76CSx cheaper than the 60CSx? It appears they have very similar specs. I asked the same question a couple months ago...probably deeply buried in the forums by now. If you find it, there's a link in there to a long-ago discussion comparing both that was helpful to me. The concensus was that, just by the specs, they are essentially the same thing in different packages. The 60 is marketed as "trail-friendly" while the 76 is "marine-friendly". The 60 is waterproof, and the 76 floats. Apparently, since fewer people are interested in the "marine-friendly" features, there's less demand for the 76, and therefore its cheaper...although still essentially the same thing. I got my 76 for about $60 less than a 60 last month. Cheers! Quote

Really it's strictly just a "form factor" difference, period. Buttons above vs Buttons below. Unless you just ABSOLUTELY MUST have the latest Colorado or the Oregon (and the associated problems /issues) for some unknown "latest, greatest, status" reason , you will be VERY satisfied with the 76CSx. The 60 & 76 CSx's both are fantastic, stable, extremely capable units. Quote
