+chizu
Hi all! We're going to be in Stratford towards the end of September for Ms Chizu's work and Mr Chizu will have some spare time while she's working - are there any good walks with caches on nearby that he shouldn't miss? Anywhere within a short bus/train journey of Stratford would be great. Quote Link to comment
+cakemaker
You'll get a really good tour of Stratford by doing Becksmart's multi GC139B8 Much ado... and whilst doing that you'll pass or be very near to several others by Becksmart, Delta68 and Jim Jinks including GC1DFA3 Anonymous Lock, GCYE62 Lucy's Mill, GCE9YX Uninhabited island, GC1A2YW View from a bridge, GC1BCHT Henry VIII, GC1DG8V The Greenway 7 meadows, GC17NM5 End of the line Quote Link to comment

Second the above! Other local cachers are the Stag Ramblers, who set some good caches. edit to add, centre your search from The Almost Complete Works - The RSC by Becksmart (GC139C5) for a good selection of caches around Stratford. The only ones I've not liked are those by Boetsie, who set them whilst on holiday in the area. Edited September 6, 2008 by Bear and Ragged Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
Bring your bike. The Greenway, walk or cycle, 5 miles out and 5 miles back, for Delta68's caches. Wilmcote, cycle or walk along the Stratford Canal, for Becksmart and Wilmcote caches. OR Citysightseeing buses go from Stratford to Wilmcote, ticket valid all day -jump on and off as you please- either walk along the canal to Wilmcote and bus back, or bus to Wilmcote and walk back along the canal. Trains to Birmingham and stations in between. However the service is more for tourists and isn't that frequent for local travel... Also applies to bus service, be prepared to spend a couple of hours between buses if you go out of Stratford. If you want directions, Tourist Information office, Citysightseeing etc, just ask! edit to add Warwick. Centered around GC1EB86 Warwick Town Trail by Orphan's Mum & Dad, All walkable with a bit of careful planning! (A lot of them are micro's... But some are decent size) Edited September 7, 2008 by Bear and Ragged Quote Link to comment
reelcutter
If you like micro's you will enjoy Stratford Quote Link to comment

Anyone else in Stratford this week for the GIS conference? Ms Chizu is attending while Mr Chizu gets on his bike. Edited September 23, 2008 by chizu Quote Link to comment

I've just checked and it's still there - in Newcastle upon Tyne, east of the city centre. Quote Link to comment
