Parking at Ramapo

Went to go after the new GONE caches and was going to start my hike at the gas pipeline off Skyline drive. There seems to be new no parking signs with arrows indicating no parking in the whole area.Used to be you just didn't have to block the gate. I didn't want to take any chances so I parked at the upper lot.Has anyone had any problems parking down there?

I didn't have any problems parking there last week but I also didn't see any signs saying that I couldn't.

Just don't block access for the township vehicles and natural gas people and you are fine. I have parked there dozens of times (including several this month) and never had a problem. Room for two though.

The signs must be recent because they weren't there a few weeks ago. Try this. Park there and if your car gets towed or ticketed then you know they are serious .

There are 3 or 4 new 'No Parking' signs on the fence that weren't there last week. They made it hard to misunderstand.

Drove by twice this week and didn't see any no parking signs. That is if we're talking about the same place, which is at the top of Skyline Drive at the entrance to the Oakland town leaf dump in front of the fenced in transformer area.

 

Perhaps they were torn down by vandals, or they were placed there illegally in the first place.

I'm wondering if the bow hunters put them up to save a space for themselves. I've noticed they've been parked there every weekday morning since they're season opened when I'm going over skyline to work.

My answer post had to do with he parking next to the canonball trail on the east side of skyline drive near the top of the drive. Any other gasline parking: I would say no.
