+wallabydave Posted August 29, 2008 Author Posted August 29, 2008 8 trunked tree beside a parking lot. Kinda stands all by itself. Quote
+ChileHead Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 I have a micro cache, match stick container, and a hiding spot but want to do something neat. Any suggestions Cut a small log in half, drill out a hole on both sides where you cut just slightly wider than the match stick container so it fits in snug, stick it in and close both halves together. Then place somewhere where it's not likely to get thrown away accidentally while people search. Quote
+lordzogat Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Hide the cache in a pinecone or similar dropped item that does not belong to this particular tree so it stands out if you realize it does not belong. Quote

+StarBrand Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Drop the container inside an ammo box and camo it to fit the location. Quote
Skippermark Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 (edited) Cammo tape it to the end of a stick and place the stick into the tree cluster. Cammo it, drop a log and pencil in there and put it into the ammo box and make the ready-to-go cache an FTF prize for someone to hide a new cache? Edited August 30, 2008 by Skippermark Quote
+J10fly Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I actually just did a cache last week that had a match stick container tied to a string and hoisted up over a branch way up. The string was tied out of sight on a lower branch so you had to untie it let it down. Quote

How about creating a challenging mystery cache so that one gets double the satisfaction - once for solving the mystery, the second for finding the cache itself! Quote
+chuckwagon101 Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I have a micro cache, match stick container, and a hiding spot but want to do something neat. Any suggestions Simple.....Add one (1) field.......one Big Tree (1).......and a ............BIG PILE OF STICKS! Guaranteed to get a lot of comments! Guaranteed to be FOUND! Quote
+wapahani Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Go to the hardware store, buy a spade bit that is a 1-1/8", drill out the end of a large diameter branch and slide it into the hole. Then place branch into tree at ground level. Or, get camo tape, wrap well, find a dead spot in tree and place, then top with old bark and junk. (this one has been done 100 times over!) Just think for a while. Quote
Clan Riffster Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Any suggestions Drop it in an ammo box. They make good swag. Quote
