Magellan roadmate 1430 ?

I just bought a Magellan Roadmate 1430 and discovered that it doesn't come with an AC wall charger.

 

Maybe one of you guys knows......can I use the AC wall charger from my cell phone for this?

 

Both tips are identical.

I checked the back of the AC charger for my cell and the back of the car charger that came with the GPS to see if the output is the same.

 

This is what it says

 

GPS car charger- output: 5VDC/1.0A

 

Cell phone wall charger- output: 5.0V --- 550mA

 

(there is a solid line under the 3 dashes ^ but I can't type that)

 

I'm not very electrically inclined but I know enough to know that if the output is different that it can fry the device. I'm just not sure if this is compatible.

 

I don't want to have to pay 20-30 bucks for a wall charger if I already have one

that would work.
