topherc1
I just need to know what Gps would be best for Geocaching and Hiking/biking/Backpacking/camping. I looked around on Shopzilla but I wasnt quite sure what exactly was the best one. I'm looking for a Topo map, with compass and possibly color screen although thats not a big deal to me. I'm a first time buyer and I need help. Edited August 24, 2008 by topherc1 Quote Link to comment
+peto_geo
You hit the Delorme PN-20/40 on the head for what you need. I've been very happy with my PN-20. You will love the USGS quads, aerial photos, color imagery, etc. Check out TigerGPS.com for their PN-20 refurb deal at $169.99 with everything needed. Quote Link to comment

+LEGO
I would suggest a Garmin. I have an eTrex VENTURE HC that works very well for caching and hiking. They have several models in the eTrex line, compare them to see what features you would like the best. Quote Link to comment
+OzzieSan
My primary unit is a 60CSx, my backup is a first generation E-Trex Venture. Quote Link to comment
sjn951
We use our Legend HCx for all the same activities you mentioned. We have been extremely happy with it so far. Stick with Garmin. The compatibility with geocaching.com for downloading caches is a very nice feature. Quote Link to comment
