5) You came home on vacation because you had carefully planned out the vacation with a limited number of days/nights, and the vacation had come to an end... as all good things must.

5) you came bsck becasue you had a call that one of the forest guards or a hicker... found your missing GPS, and you had to go and take it! You had to go home first to take papers or something to prove that you are the one who lost the GPS, and maybe any GPS papers or something to prove that you were there.....

The other day I was driving along our main drag... not very busy, except at a couple of times a day. The shoulders are wide and function as a bike lane. There's really only one or two shops in our town, and a little strip mall with a grocery store, CVS, bank, etc. There was a line of traffic behind one vehicle that was turning left into the store... and most of the line was waiting patiently behind them... except for the one yahoo who was in too much of a hurry... and pulled out into the bike line to go around her... nearly wiping out the cyclist traveling in the bike lane.

That's pretty much how my nephew had his hip broken when he was riding his bike to work!!

LadyBee4T - sad to say that the Todie's Wild Ride: Abby And Riley geocoin seems to have gone missing. Maybe we should send the dogs out on a hunt.

 

I had one I thought was missing and it turned up again after several months in a different cache than it was listed in. All may not be lost.

 

I'm sure that if a squirrel was anywhere near the coin that Riley could find it quite quickly!

2. No tent poles

 

3. Rain all night 2 inches total

 

4. Leaking tent and you were soaked

Looks like a few reasons to cut your trip short.

 

You forgot the no equipment left to camp with part but DING DING DING!!!

 

We arrived to set up camp only to find we didn't have poles...OUCH! KAboom packed a lot of stuff, but forgot the important poles, so we almost came home before even starting the vacation. Then, I thought about the canopy we had, this one had sides for it so we thought to use that...worked great even though the airbed had to lay on bare ground! Forst night was very comfortable, we had fans blowing on us so that the lack of windows wouldn't matter (too hot and no air movement). However, the next night called for rain and we thought the ground would get wet under the canopy, so we moved into a small tent a friend brought and set up for us while we were off doing something else... The airbed touched all sides (it was a HUGE airbed) which was a recipe for disaster from the start. It rained 2" that night and we had about an inch of water on the floor of the tent...and we were SOAKED! Under the canopy?? Bone dry.

 

That night, we moved to the canopy again knowing it was supposed to rain, we were damp and ugly, but still trying to make the very best of the situation. While laying on the bed, my elbow went through it and we now had a huge hole which meant we were DONE! Well, maybe not, we had some duct tape after all lol Tape wasn't sticking and hole was on my side, so I laid down over the tape and held it on, KAboom gingerly got on the other side and we went to bed. The lightning however was CRAZY! It was as if 100 paprazzi had circled the tent and were snapping pictures non-stop...WOW! And then the thunder which seemed to roll forever!

 

Just as I was about to go to sleep, the whole thing collapsed in on us, one of the large fans landed on my head! KAboom jumped up and held the top of the canopy up while I was still (shockedly) trying to keep the airbed from deflating?? When I stood up, I was in ankle deep water, a river had formed and was running through our tent! We were soaked again, the canopy was totaled and we were forced to retreat to the Jeep for the rest of the night. 3" of rain that night...OUCH! Morning came and I was DONE! No airbed, no canopy....we came home!

Unfortuntelly I have to go to bed, so I will not be able to play!

My girlfriend s coming tomorrow to see me! She will be here only for some hours! It was her birthday today! :huh: She couldn't come because of her job, but she will be here in a few hours! I have to get some rest! :)

What world record thing you saw..... ????? What else???? The world record of bad luck, unfortunate events etc, for vacation time!!!

what bad eye saw you??? We use to say that in Greece! That's why we have the "evil eye" jewell to protect us from the bad eye!!! :)

 

even if I do not believe a lot in these things.... sometimes things are....

 

Can you imagine someone who saw you to said... "oh you are going for vacation! I wish I could but I do not have the time and the money.... Well... have a nice time..." or something similar, but you will understand that jealousy is behind all that...

 

well... I do not know why....things after that are going from bad to worse!!!!!

The golfer was attacked by a Canadian goose. They are known to be aggressive things and leave their droppings all over the place too......

The golfer was almost attacked by another golfer. Maybe he wanted to play through or played the wrong ball or something but he went after him! Hey maybe he was mad at his own game and took it out on the other golfer....

The thing that attacked the golfer is fairly rare to see, I have only seen one of these. :P
