I realeased TWR a penny for your thoughts and I thought I would have everyone that discovers it and posts a safety story / message with their discovery would get a chance to win a 2 CENTS WORTH geocoin. So , does anyone know where I can find a couple???

That's them. Thanx LB4T. I ordered one. I am making wooden nickels with a penny in the center and they will have a number on the back. Whoever dicovers this coin, gets a wooden nickel and after a while, I will random draw a number from those that have posted a note of safety. They win the trackable penny.

I was a lucky one too, twice. The first time I hit a deer at 65 mph, destroyed my fairing, $2,200 damage to bike - and that was in '85. I suffered a sprained ancle and a few very moinr road burns - could have been a lot worse. Second time, same bike, some older guy look right through me and proceeded to drive me off the road into a field. I don't believe he ever really saw me. he sure didn't stop to check on me. Other then a lot of dust, no probelms. Key to survivakl on a bike - be always alert, and assume the other guy (or animal) doesn't see you.

 

I am sorry for your loss, will take some pictures here in San Diego, then get this little guy moving to spread the word. Thanks !

Add it to the list and count the miles from August 2008 when this was started if you can figure out what the starting mileage would be. Or if you don't want to count the mileage I can start a new list because there is other coins that was adopted over that had to many miles but was changed to Todie's Wild Ride. I thiink TJ adopted them out.

OK, I now see why we cannot allow the Tennessee Jed coins to count toward the race, some have considerable mileage. I think the coins can count toward the release part, but will have to be disqualified from the race portion! Sorry....

 

Also, Zoesbrother, I am truly sorry to tell you this, but only coins or non-trackable coins with a TB tag qualify for the race. If that is what your TB is, GREAT!! If not, I would be more than happy to let you activate a coin for the mission! Let me know and we'll go from there!! THANKS for your effort!!

 

Wow, that took some reading to find this post. It was really pretty interesting to go back to how it all began, anyway here is the post that had to do with coins with miles on them. We do have 3 coins listed in the mission that were adopted from Tennessee Jed, they are in it for the count but not the race.

I wanted to share this pic from Robert's friend's coin, this was taken from the overlook outside the Red Rock Canyon park. Looking just to the left of the bush, you'll note the peak with the red stripe going through it, then the white roundede looking dome peak? (between the guys and the bush)

 

That peak is Bridge Mountain (the rounded white dome peak) and is the second tallest in Red Rock Canyon (the peak with the red stripe isn't as tall, it's just in the foreground ). That was the peak Tod, Jade and I climbed the first day of our 3 day climbfest back in 2002...My Wilson was the second climb made 2 days later...it's the tallest peak in ReRock Canyon (not in the picture).

 

For those who've never been to RRC, it's a very nice place indeed!! Rock scrambling to outright climbing, miles and miles of trails trough the vally and around the whole park as well as the 13 mile drive which allows for some nice views!! Caches are plentiful in there and nearby!!!

On the way home from work tonight I drove by the spot where Jerry was killed. It looks like he was forced to the edge of the road in the first turn of the "S" curve by the Suburban. His bike went off the road and took out a large section of fence beside the road.

 

I can't believe he's gone. It happened so suddenly. One minute everything is fine and the next minute people in the hall are talking about a bad motorcycle wreck and it turns out to be Jerry. It just goes to show that you never know when someone may be taken from you. I'll be keeping that in mind as I spend time with my family tonight. Thanks for the kind words Rod and UFgatorgirl. I'll be sure to let Jerry's family know that there are others praying for them.

I think the strenght of this spreading Bike Awareness is to make sure that something good is comming out of Tod's and Jerry's tragic death. Would you like me to do that?

Wow!! I sort of dropped off the grid for a while. I haven't been posting or reading the forums lately. Haven't been riding the bike either. I don't think I've been on the motorcycle since Jerry died. I had no idea this cointest was going on in remembrance of my friend Jerry.

 

Today when I got home from work I was surprised by a package in the mail from the Netherlands with a beautiful silver, black, and red Motorbiking by Q. Treiber coin and a card with a very nice message on it from Sivota. So I went hunting here on the forums and found out what I had missed. Thank you so very much Sivota for your amazing kindness and generosity. I just don't know what to say. I've found the geocoining community to be a wonderful group of people that supports each other and is extremely generous and caring, and Sivota, you are a shining example of that. I'm sure Jerry would feel honored to know that the message of motorcycle safety is being sent out in his name and that lives may be saved as a result. He was always more concerned about the well being of other people more than himself.

 

Once again, I don't know how to thank you Sivota, or the many others that have posted here to share your concern and sympathy. It was a very touching gesture and I am deeply appreciative.

Wow!! I sort of dropped off the grid for a while. I haven't been posting or reading the forums lately. Haven't been riding the bike either. I don't think I've been on the motorcycle since Jerry died. I had no idea this cointest was going on in remembrance of my friend Jerry.

 

Today when I got home from work I was surprised by a package in the mail from the Netherlands with a beautiful silver, black, and red Motorbiking by Q. Treiber coin and a card with a very nice message on it from Sivota. So I went hunting here on the forums and found out what I had missed. Thank you so very much Sivota for your amazing kindness and generosity. I just don't know what to say. I've found the geocoining community to be a wonderful group of people that supports each other and is extremely generous and caring, and Sivota, you are a shining example of that. I'm sure Jerry would feel honored to know that the message of motorcycle safety is being sent out in his name and that lives may be saved as a result. He was always more concerned about the well being of other people more than himself.

 

Once again, I don't know how to thank you Sivota, or the many others that have posted here to share your concern and sympathy. It was a very touching gesture and I am deeply appreciative.
