Bikers are not allowed to wear receivers that are attached to transferable radios, taperecorders etc, (generally hear music!), while thay are moving on the roads!

 

I think that is becasue they can not hear anything and that may be a problem!

 

Also, they are not allowed to move in pairs, and parallel on the road!

What I mean! It is not allowed 2 bikers in 2 different bikes to move near together, on the same line! I mean, one next to the other, and not one in front and the other comming behind him!! Of course if a biker goes to the other line where the other cars & bikes are coming from the different direction.... you know!!!

some of the laws, were made a long time ago, they are not in use anymore, but strangely, they still exist! If a policeman search and actually wants to give you a penalty for something..... he can do it!

 

There was a law in Greece, of 1960's of 70's (??), that was saying that all bicyckles must have license plates on them! That was in use when cars were not many, people couldn;t affort to buy cars or motorbikes, and they were using bicyckles!

 

I still remember something I heard in the news a couple of years ago, about a policeman who stoped a child who was riding his bike, and gave him a penalty because his bicyckle didn;t have license plate!!!! the policeman took the child's bike with him (confiscated it)

As I said, even the news mentioned this, as a joke, but actually the policeman was covered under the law that still existed!!!

I do not know what happent after this, I do not know if the parents of the child payed the panalty to take the bike back!!!

 

These kind of laws are something like some strange ones, USA (mostly local laws) or other countries have...

Your confusing a bicycle with a motorcycle. There is a law requiring the use of helmet in PA and that is below.

 

Section 3510. Pedalcycle helmets for certain persons.

 

(a) General rule.-- A person under 12 years of age shall not operate a pedalcycle or ride as a passenger on a pedalcycle unless the person is wearing a pedalcycle helmet meeting the standards of the AmericanStandards Institute, the American Society for Testing and Materials, the Snell Memorial Foundation's Standards for Protective Headgear for Use in Bicycling or any other nationally recognized standard for pedalcycle helmet approval. This subsection shall also apply to a person who rides:

Maine State law requires a headlight and red taillight visible from at least 500 feet when riding at night. Flashing taillights and reflective clothing recommended.

While finding out about the laws of Maine I discovered this.

Since 1992, the Bicycle Coalition of Maine has been advocating for bicycling safety, education, and access. Our Share the Road Campaign aims to educate both bicyclists and motorists about safe, responsible driving. In the past 15 years we have succeeded in getting five pages added to the Maine Motorist Handbook, a bicycle safety question on the Maine Driver Exam, and have been training Driver Education Instructors about how to teach new drivers about sharing the road.

Since 2004, the Bicycle Coalition of Maine (BCM) has partnered with state and federal agencies and media outlets throughout Maine on Share the Road educational campaigns to make the state’s roadways safer for both bicyclists and motorists.

We have received grants from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Maine Bureau of Highway Safety and MaineDOT to support the creation and airing of TV and radio public service announcements (PSAs) with our Share the Road message. Since 2007, the BCM has partnered with WCSH6-TV to create and air PSAs featuring the coalition’s celebrity spokesperson, Eric Weinrich, of the Portland Pirates. We don't get that station so I have never seen them.

It is amazing all the laws and resources that is all ready available that not many people know about.

I know I had a cutoff date for entries into the race and that we are now adding coins after the date...I was wondering how everyone felt about this? I don't want to upset anyone with the change in rules.

 

My plan is to get the last few coins I have into the game, then we'll see how it goes. I don't think we'll be releasing too many more considering I only have a few left. Will the addition of more coins later on be OK with everyone or should I stop all entries after this last cointest?? It's your call everyone.

UPDATE: Christmas came early today, THANKS to family and friends!! I now have a new computer sitting here, a nice new machine that I'm sure will not let me down! I am so very happy this isn't a problem anymore, I really had a hard time the last few days.

Roddy, sorry to hear about your dad, we'll keep your family in our prayers. Hope you have a good holiday despite the circumstances.

 

You know, it's funny (in an odd way)...my dad worked every Thanksgiving (I think more to avoid some of our relations than to work lol). He'd go to the golf course and wait to see if anyone would come to buy a membership or gift certificate, people would stop out to visit and such! Dad was always late to arrive, we often ate before he came as much of the family couldn't wait around that long (I think this was his plan though). This year, dad is there first, mom is caring for him and he's going to be on time for the first time since I was a youngster!!

 

This will be a great holiday, we'll be a family. It's sad to think about it as it'll likely be the last Thanksgiving we have together...but we're darned well going to make the very best of it!!

 

I didn't mean to avoid you, my friend...you did a great job activating the coin! I will place it on my watch list and it'll be traveling this weekend when I meet up with the Geopigs!!

4511.53 Rules for Bicycles - A person operating a bicycle shall ride either standing upon the pedals or

seated upon the permanent and regular seat and shall carry no more persons than the number for which it

is designed and equipped. No person operating a bicycle shall carry any item which would prevent them

from having at least one hand on the handle bars.
