I dropped three of my Todies Wild Ride coins in a cache called: "America in Amersfoort.

Nobody knows why the cache is called that way.

Its near here;

This small forest is called": "Little Switserland". Nobody knows why it is called that way either.

51% of the Dutch people cycle a avarage of 750 km per person per year.

Children learn to cycle at an early age.

But not now.......

It is skating time (or learning how to skate)

When you are 10 years old, Dutch kids have a travic examination at school.

They have to cycle on the raods, while being watched and practice what they have learned.

( The Dutch don't wear helmets when cycling)

I saw them without helmets and wondered why....too bad!!

A friend of mine was going with a lady who had a young boy (about 10 or so, maybe 12), he was riding with friends around the annual fair in our city. He somehow either was hit by a car or wiped out into a car and wasn't wearing a helmet. The only injuries he sustained was severe brain damage and is still affected to this day. I saw this energenic and adventurous boy a few years ago, he was around 20 at the time...in a wheelchair, no real body control and still in bad shape. He went from being a great kid who was taking karate, always liked to climb trees and be adventurous...to a young man in a wheelchair. All this could have been avoided (or at least minimized) had he worn a helmet!

You are absolutly right, Roddy. I don't know why the Dutch don't wear helmets.

Maybe because we were a cycling nation before the helmets came.

Your guess is as good as mine.

The only cyclists with Helmets on are tourists.

They won't start wearing helmets either; the Dutch. They are kind of haert haeded on that one.

Motorcyclist have to wear helmets by law though. At least thats something.
