+sbell111 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 (edited) Ummm, if you are not upset about this, then why does it bother you that his post said some people get upset? Just be happy that you're not one of those people and move on with your life. Why would I need to be upset about cache owners not deleting false logs before I can be upset that someone writes something untrue in this discussion.Because otherwise you are taking the position that no one ever gets upset over this. That is a stand that cannot be proven and could somewhat easily be disproven, based on post history. I don't think I understand your point. I think what I said was that I had not read a post where someone said that they were upset that someone was not deleting bogus logs. No one offered the proof that you say would be easily done.Good grief. That isn't even what Mushtang posted. Here's the post you are urguing against: Not quite. It hasn't been globally agreed that it's harmful if a bogus log exists on someone else's cache, and therefore it's not upsetting to some of us. In fact, some of us are definitely questioning why others get upset about the status on other people's caches. I would love to see a quote to back up this claim. As far as I can tell, you are arguing just to argue and the points that you are arguing against don't matter to the process. As far as the move one with my life comment, what gives you the impression that I'm not? Mostly because you can't let this go. You keep picking at every little post to continue the argument when most everyone else has shrugged their shoulders and 'moved on with their lives'.I don't understand why you say that about me. I left for a weekend and this didn't end while was away. I respond to something you post for example but somehow I am the one picking at it. It takes at least two to have a back and forth. If you don't want me to comment on your post, don't post.Take another look at the recent thread activity. While it's true that the thread was active even though you had taken the weekend off, it was active with silly off-topic banter. The participants had let go of the angst and were having a bit of lighthearted fun. This was true right up to the point where you came back and dragged it back into angstville. +Star*Hopper Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Maybe going in under the assumption that there's a child viewing every post would help keep the language cleaner?? Might not be true, but why chance it? Well, to tell the truth not everyone shares your views of what language is "clean" and what isn't. I trust you keep your beloved neice well away from television, where the "P" words can be heard on a nightly basis? And I'm talking PrimeTime hours on regular network TV - you know, the ones who are so mortally afeared of offending anyone? Butttttttttttttt........it's not my board, not my call. I did my part - you can stop preaching now. (I can still say 'but', can't I?) ~* Quote

I did my part - you can stop preaching now. (I can still say 'but', can't I?) ~* First, that comment was directed at the person who posted the quote I used, sorry if you feel I'm preaching to you (BUT, try and remember there are others using this forums and not all comments are directed at YOU). Second, as for prime time...unless they say some of those comments on the DISNEY channel, I have little fear of my beloved niece being exposed to it...unlike when I'm reading the forums and someone throws such language around carelessly as you did! See...when my little princess (THANKS sbell, I like that pic) stays with me, she still has to go to bed at 9pm, she still doesn't get to watch grown-up TV...same values being taught at home are being taught here. Maybe I'm a bit of a prude, but raising kids to be respectful, to mind their elders, to use proper language, to wear their clothes so they actually cover the parts they're intended to etc etc...it just seems right! Maybe the reason kids act like they do these days is because there aren't enough adults out there being good parental figures! And last...just because you aren't as considerate toward others with your language doesn't give you the right to use the language in the forums...I believe the guidelines might state that?? Funny thing....I was going to commend you for taking the proper steps but thought better of it as you might take it wrong...go figure! (well that, and judging by the emoticon you used, I could tell it wasn't going to make a difference) Sorry, maybe this can get back to the topic on hand, I'm through here. Wanna call me on anything, go to PM! Quote

Are you saying that was not what the words in red mean? While it's true that the thread was active even though you had taken the weekend off, it was active with silly off-topic banter. Well when I came back there were 5 posts quoting me, and I didn't see all the lighthearted fun you talk about. Maybe you should go back and read them again, I just did. Funny how when you respond to me it is lighthearted fun, but when I respond, you are filled with angst. Does it cause you angst to have someone challenge your beliefs? Quote

Are you saying that was not what the words in red mean?I'm saying that the words in red mean that some people, including Mushtang, question why others would get upset about the status of other people's caches, specifically whether bogus logs exist on those caches and whether the cache owners choose to delete them. Further, I believe that if you don't get upset over these instances, then his post has nothing to do with you. While it's true that the thread was active even though you had taken the weekend off, it was active with silly off-topic banter.
