Donald, Daisy and Kids
If we do a listing but not submit it, does that reserve the location?? Or is it a case of only once it is published that the area becomes unavailable to place another cache? Quote Link to comment

Keystone
It must be published to be reserved. This is not a correct answer. Yes, it is possible to "reserve" a spot or spot for a cache or caches that you're working on. A good example would be a series of ten caches set up to be "time released" on the day of an event cache. The owner hides the caches weeks in advance. It would sure mess things up if someone else hid a cache near one of the new caches, possibly messing up something like a "solve the mystery" cache game or a poker run. You can't abuse this feature, however, by reserving an entire new park while you await its opening, or by reserving 50 spots for six months. To reserve a spot without having the cache reviewed, create your cache page, disable it, and post an explanation in a reviewer note. (Example: "This cache is pending approval by the state park office.") Enable your listing when it's ready for review. I hope that this explanation is helpful. Quote Link to comment
Donald, Daisy and Kids
I hope that this explanation is helpful. Sure is helpful thanks Keystone! We had semi prepared a few caches in our local area but there has been a sudden influx of resident cachers which has mean that the locations we had chosen have been taken Bugger! Now we know that trick it will be helpful (but WONT be abused) Thanks again! Quote Link to comment
+OzzieSan
Had the same thing happen. I was working on a series of 10 history caches and did everything except leave a note to the reviewer. Now I know! Thanks for the question Donald, Daisy and Kids! And thank you Keystone for the answer!! Quote Link to comment
JohnGGeo
After the cache is published than if you archieve it then the spot is once again available. But if you disable it then it's reserved (don't disable a spot just to reserve that area. use it wisely) Quote Link to comment
