+Gralorn Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Is there a way of producing a list of just the 'cash & dashes' in say the South West ? I appreciate that all the M4 & M5 Motorway Mayhems are listed, but what of ordinary ones dotted around the counties? Quote
+Happy Humphrey Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 Isn't there going to be thousands of the blighters? Quote
+Simply Paul Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 You could search for 1/1s? (can't you? If not, a PQ?) At least they'd be easy, even if they're not true drive-bys. Quote

You'll have to download all the trads and virts in the area using dozens of PQ's, upload them to Memory-Map and trawl the roads adding each one that is close to a road to yor own bookmark list. Not really worth the effort I suppose? Quote

Not really worth the effort I suppose? It's even harder than that. For example, we have a cache which appears to be by a road, but it's not. Don't forget the third dimension. You could always suggest a C&D attribute. Quote
+Bear and Ragged Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 You could always suggest a C&D attribute. So at what point does a "Cache and Dash" become "A quick cache"? Quote
+Gralorn Posted August 16, 2008 Author Posted August 16, 2008 So there's not then! unless ages was taken looking at all the 1/1 traditional caches and listing them.... Thanks for the answers appreciated. The circular drive by is not an option on these rainy days then, shame. Quote
+JeremyR Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 You could use a Caches Along a Route PQ with the distance from route set to 0.1miles, traditionals and LBHybrids only, difficulty <1.5, etc, etc... Quote
+purple_pineapple Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 Depending upon when you need it, I can probably create a bookmark list of all 1/1 caches in an area. I can't think of any other way of producing an automated list. An attribute would indeed be rather useful! Quote
+Gralorn Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 We were heading out towards Newbury & Thatcham, so have used GSAK for all caches and now starting to go through them looking for 1/1 and reading about them in the spilt screen. Time consuming though must admit! Would hate to have to do it for say the South West. Quote
+Von-Horst Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Couldn't you just use the map on GC.com to look for ones that are next to road? That's what we do. Mike Quote
+Delta68 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Here's one bookmark list that I know of: True Cache And Dash Caches (vix92008) M Quote
+Gralorn Posted August 18, 2008 Author Posted August 18, 2008 Nice list, but the nearest to us is 32.6 miles away 'Welcome to Wales'. there are a lot more nearer that we know of, so it's not a well kept bookmark list, plus there are pages of Motorway Mayhems which we knew there was a list of. back to looking at split screen and GSAK. Thanks though all interesting stuff. Quote
