NDPeter
I'm headed to Glacier National Park soon and was certain I'd be able to load some trail maps into my GPSr. After a day of googling I'm waving the white flag and turning to you guys. Does anyone have a favorite resource that they use to get hiking trails for their GPSr? My friend and I are taking map and compass, so we're not flying blind...but I really thought there'd be something else out there. I guess these would be available in a universal GPX format, but if it matters I have a Magellan eXplorist. THANKS! Quote Link to comment
ryleyinstl
You could see what trails are on this map, likely nothing but worth a try: http://www.miscjunk.org/mj/mp_mttopo.html Quote Link to comment

Magicmaps are canada based coverage. The new trail maps offered by accu-terra USA will have the trails you need. http://www.magellangps.com/products/map.as...amp;PRODID=2119 Quote Link to comment

+cameltrekor
Some other sites to look at are: backpacker magazine trails_dot_com, for a fee. national geographic, I thought they had a site with trail downloads but I can't find it now. Quote Link to comment

Visit one and your likely going to be in the other. Quote Link to comment

NDPeter
Thanks for all the suggestions. Certainly have some sites I didn't come across in my searching. Really liking the trimble outdoors site thusfar...but I've only checked out 3 or 4. A number of sites have folks upload their tracks and or waypoints from hikes...I'm surprised no single site has gone out there to grab all this and consolidate it yet. Quote Link to comment

+storm180
Not sure if you want to spend the money but when I talked to accu-terra about the trail coverage of Glacier National Park they said they have all the trail heads and trails in the park mapped on their maps. Now I have not been able to acutally see it for myself without spending the 60 bucks on the mapset but accu-terra seems like really nice topo maps with trails already built in for the explorist.
