Meckers
Obviously, something went wrong with my origingal post. Sorry about that. What I said was: I lost my Explorist 210 and need a replacement. The 210 was perfect for me and if I can duplicate it then I would be very happy. I have my geocaches, POI's and an important route through the desert (offroading) someone else did and posted on the internet which I loaded on the 210 and intend to do in about 4 weeks. I looked at a Triton 200 on Amazon but the sole reviewer trashed the base map. If the Triton 200 base map is as good (or no worse depending on your outlook) then that is good enough for me. Also, it has to be able to be hooked up to a computer to download the aforementioned stuff. So my simple question is: is the Triton 200 a worthy successor to the Explorist 210? I don't have time to learn another manufacturer's product so please don't go there. Thanks. Edited August 9, 2008 by Meckers Quote Link to comment

With Explorists you get some local roads, but with Triton, it's just major highways. Quote Link to comment
+user13371
Meckers, I know where you can get a good deal on an Explorist 210 - with mapping software to greatly enhance the already useful basemap PM me, thanks. Quote Link to comment

You will have no easier transition from an explorist to a triton than you would from an explorist to any other gps. I have had both, and they are not similar in any function at all. Your best bet if you don't want to learn a new gps is to get another explorist. Quote Link to comment
ronealdo
It seems ok for me the triton, the only "but" i'd found would be the screen, sometimes color screens have no antireflect and they get hard to read in sunlight. if you use waas it might be hard to catch with the explorist since the change of PRN . about your saves, u can use a software to get the "plain text" info to export-import them between brands.
