Upgrade to a newer model!

 

Or.

Carefully remove rubber, clean off all traces of old glue -acetone (nail polish remover).

Try not to streatch the rubber.

 

Rubber glue (Evo stick) with as little glue as you can -not over the buttons.

 

Make sure old glue is removed and traces of cleaner are removed or the new glue wont stick...

 

Others have tried double sided tape.

I had this happen on my yellow etrex about a year ago. I emailed garmin and asked about repairs. They said that they could repair it for me. I asked them to confirm whether there was a charge and they said it would be free. They actually sent me a brand new unit.

Since other threads have commented on the variability of Garmin support, could you give the email address where you asked please?
