I have 1 day available for geocaching and was hoping to get advice on some caches to locate. Closest to home base is GC1CWNN (Seven 11). Thanks Gotta endorse Discombob's sentiments 6-8km in ANY direction from Monte Casino is not where you would like to be walking around and DEFINATELY not after sunset!! My advice would be to team up with a local cacher and do a bit of caching with them rather. I am sure if you put up your dates, etc of your visit some eager Gautenger will be more than willing to spend a couple of hours showing you a few local caches in the area. +Brick Posted August 7, 2008 Share Posted August 7, 2008 The area around Monte Casino is a) not safe, and not very pedestrian friendly (too many roads crisscrossing), so take the advice and put up your dates and stuff, and the friendly caching community will be more than willing to help you out. If any locals want to meet that would be great. Not sure how much e-mail access I will have in next few days - heading to Nairobi tonight for a conference week before JHB. (I lived in Craighall Park area of Johannesburg in early 1980's for a few years, so familiar with the area (I think!!)). Quote Link to comment
