Your best accuracy on Colorado

Recommended Posts

Compass on or off has nothing to do with the reported "GPS Accuracy", aka EPE.

EPE is a probabilistic computation of expected error. There are a number of accepted methods for calculating EPE. No manufacturer, including Garmin, seems inclined to divulge which method they are using for any given model. As a result, comparing EPE between units of different types is meaningless.

It is best to just treat EPE as a relative measure of how far you might actually be from your reported position -- with the emphasis on relative.
