+Maxwell10
What's the best accuracy you've seen on the Colorado? I have gotten to down to 10 feet but most of the time it's at 15 - 20ft. And that is with the electronic compass off) I used to get 6 - 7 feet accuracy on my etrex legend, what gives? Quote Link to comment
+twolpert
Compass on or off has nothing to do with the reported "GPS Accuracy", aka EPE. EPE is a probabilistic computation of expected error. There are a number of accepted methods for calculating EPE. No manufacturer, including Garmin, seems inclined to divulge which method they are using for any given model. As a result, comparing EPE between units of different types is meaningless. It is best to just treat EPE as a relative measure of how far you might actually be from your reported position -- with the emphasis on relative. Quote Link to comment
+rkelso
I saw my Colorado hit 8 feet this morning, to answer your question. But like twolpert said, it's not really comparable between models. Quote Link to comment
