Birdman-of-liskatraz Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I'll compile a list of Bookmark lists for easy reference if you let me know where they are. So if you have a Public Bookmark list that you'd like to share of good caches in your area, or even of "specialist" (Night caches, Earth Caches, Difficult caches etc) then can you post a link here and I'll compile a list of Bookmark lists. Now maybe a useful time to compile a bookmark list of caches you've enjoyed doing - it doesn't take long and I think is a "thank You" to the cachers who set the caches. My Bookmark List for visitors to mainly East Cornwall is here: East Cornwall Bookmark list and My Bookmark list for Wells near Holy Wells is here: Holy Wells Bookmark List Quote
walkergeoff and wife Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 (edited) Here is my (not updated) Favourite caches list. This will motivate me to update the list! Edited July 29, 2008 by walkergeoff Quote
Happy Humphrey Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Here's the one for the Isle of Man: IOM Recommended. There's no inference that caches not on the list are rubbish, but the comments might help and these are my personal favourites. Quote
Simply Paul Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 (edited) I've just added some of my specialist cache choices to my forum signature. Let's see if it's worked... Edit- The machine that does forum stuff still looks to be ill. So they're here instead: British 'Small(ish) Coastal Island' Caches UK's Moving Caches UK & Irish Geographical Extremes Edited July 29, 2008 by Simply Paul Quote
Stuey Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I'll compile a list of Bookmark lists for easy reference if you let me know where they are. I have my Top Ten cache list in my sig line... ... right about \|/ there Quote
Team Sieni Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 (edited) I "maintain" (well - occasionally update) a list of caches that are on (or near) the prime meridian, and mention the fact in the title or description. UK Meridian Caches Incidentally, a feature I'd love to see on the site (I suggested it on the main site ages ago, but no one was much interested) would be the ability for bookmark lists to contain any kind of GC.com item, not just caches. So you could have a list of bookmark lists, a list of TBs, and so on. It would be, I believe the term is, "cool". Edited to add, I also have this one Near Coal Tax Posts but I haven't maintained it for a while. It relies on some quite fiddly software that I put together to run, and I'm afraid I can't remember how it works Maybe when I get some free time ... Edited July 29, 2008 by Team Sieni Quote

Birdman-of-liskatraz Posted July 29, 2008 Author Posted July 29, 2008 Bookmark Links I've bodged together a webpage with links to all the bookmark links. I've split it into 3 sections Regional - Where someone has attempted to pick their favourite caches in a defined area Specialist - Night Caches, Island Caches, Holy Wells any list where the caches have adefined common interest. Personal - A cachers list of their favourite caches - often covering a wide area. Comments and more links much appreciated Steve/Birdie Quote

Birdman-of-liskatraz Posted July 29, 2008 Author Posted July 29, 2008 (edited) It's just got a little longer! and longer still... BookMarK Lists List If you know of any more, I'd love to add them. If I've added one of yours and you know its out of date and you have no intention of updating it - let me know and I'll remove it. If you're on the list, expect emails suggesting new caches to add - I've had two for my Holy Wells so far. I'm surprised there's no Bookmark list for: a) Travel Bug Hotels Potential Camelots c) Potential King Arthur last resting places! Edited July 30, 2008 by Birdman-of-liskatraz Quote

Birdman-of-liskatraz Posted July 31, 2008 Author Posted July 31, 2008 Right all those added now and online at Bookmark Lists - The Mega List I've found a few more by wandering around cache pages at random! in different areas. I'd love to get some more Regional ones - it would be great if a few more cachers could produce a list of caches they've enjoyed doing in their home area, ones they may recommend to a visitor to the area. Potential Bookmark lists that would seem to make sense that I've not yet found, indeed they may not exist. - County High Points - King Arthur related caches, there seem to be quite a lot all over the place (Though obviously the real one is Cornish ) - Bridges - Literature - Famous Authors etc. - Film TV Locations. Thanks to everyone so far - I'm amazed at whats out there. Oh a description as part of the list is very helpful... Steve/Birdie Quote

Team Sieni Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) Recognisable UK Film and TV Locations - A work in progress! There is, or used to be, a multi near Thetford in Norfolk that took you around the Dad's Army filming locations there. I just did a quick search for Thetford and couldn't find it (it had Dad's Army in the title I think) so it must've been archived. Or I wasn't looking properly.
