+PinkDolphin
I am trying to change my forum avatar (I was able to change it on GC.com), it also look as if my forum avatar should have been updated but it didn't' This is the message I get about the update Important! If you make any changes to your profile and they do not update in the forums, click on the "Register" link on the forums page and it will send you to a page to update those settings. I can't seem to find the "register" link can someone point me in that direction? Thanks Link to comment

+trainlove
Can someone spell out the actual url for the 'register' link. I've always ever typed forums.Groundspeak.com to get right to the forums, unless I made a password or avatar change in the past. Link to comment
WashoeZephyr
Good, someone else has this issue too, I thought I was going blind! I have too, I thought it was just from the updates yesterday but mine still hasn't changed in the forums. It looks great on Gc.com though! Link to comment
+JerseyGirl & Bruno
If you log out of the Forum you should see a pink bar at the top with the "Register" link...It doesn't appear when you're still logged in. Since the new "Hello" box is bound and determined to display my forum avatar rather than my profile avatar I have done backflips to change my forum avatar. No matter what i do (remove upload, change, reset) the "Hello" box doesn't change Has anyone found a way to fix this? Link to comment
+JerseyGirl & Bruno
So now that I've posted I see that even though "My Account" settings show a different/new photo for my forum avatar, the same old photo is showing up here... Help!!! Link to comment

+MrCOgeo
Can someone spell out the actual url for the 'register' link. ...I still have it (from: Choose My Avatar - hxxp: / / www.geocaching.com/my/avatar.aspx?guid=###...) as: http://www.geocaching.com/forums/register.aspx and (from: the left hand side navigation bar - Getting Started, Hide & Seek a Cache, etc...) I have it as: http://www.geocaching.com/forums/ Plus my Avatar changes have been confirmed as of now but I did log-out, cleared cookies/cache, and then log-in back in, but no strong trace backs exist as to that being an actual solution. Edited: Munged a descriptive URL Edited July 24, 2008 by MrCOgeo Link to comment
+trainlove
http://www.geocaching.com/forums/register.aspx and (from: the left hand side navigation bar - Getting Started, Hide & Seek a Cache, etc...) I have it as: http://www.geocaching.com/forums/ That's about what I thought. But those links are redirected directly to forums.Groundspeak.com or forums.Groundspeak.com/gc therefore bypassing the 'register' page. P.S. The Powers That Be have decided that all occurances of the work Groundspeak are supposed to be capitalized, I have not capitilized it any time I've spelled it out. Good point, as of now the "Register Your Avatar Changes" URLs are redirecting to the Groundspeak Forums directly. And to retract my last observation, my avatar has not updated in the Forum as this posting either... I too lend my hope (and actually somehow knowing...) They are working on it. Link to comment

You have to log out of the forums at the top of the page then you will see the register link. Although, I also haven't been able to update my avatar. Link to comment
+SgtSue
Trying to help a friend set up their account to enter the forums and have encountered the same problem. Set up for an avatar in her profile page, but it will not show in the forums. Logged out to hit the Register link as the instructions state, but no help. Thought it was me but apparently not. Any suggestions? Link to comment

Mushtang
It's on the list of stuff to fix. In this post OpinioNate has this to say about it: You might have noticed that the intermediate step between clicking the forum link, and actually landing on the forum was removed. I believe there were some unintended consequences to removing this step, which I'll have the devs look into. I'm sorry for the confusion! Link to comment
+PinkDolphin
It works now, my new avatar is posted! Yippie. Thank you for getting it fixed. Link to comment
+DonB
What about the distorted avatars? Mine shows normal in my profile, but in the forum it's distorted. I read somewhere that they went to a square format so anything rectangular is crunched from top to bottom. Does anyone know if they are going to fix it or will I have to use a different avatar? I emailed them, but so far no answer. Link to comment
