TreMichLan Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 Kia ora, Yes, a Kiwi. I will be in Cairns in September and was thinking of trying to get 50 caches in a day whilst I am there. I will have a rental car and looking at the map, I reckon if you start earlier and had some local intelligence this just might be feasible. My question is: is it feasible or is this just insanity? I am going to give it a go anyway but would appreciate your advice/admonishments/tips etc thanks maaate. Quote
McPhan Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 You'll normally get a better response from Geocaching Australia Quote
Map Monkey Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I dont know if 50 in a day is feasible in Cairns as the terrain is generally hilly and the caches spread out somewhat, typically of an area outside the big Captials. I realise that you Kiwi cachers are a diehard bunch, so good luck in any case. mm Quote
The Vikings Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 50 caches on one day sounds a far bit away from the way I prefer to do Geocaching: Enjoying the nature and the sun, relaxing from the normal workday's stress, appreciating the environment and just having fun. Why stressing like that? It is not a competition. Quote
searchwise015 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Wow you are going to have to run, but I think it may be a goer if you do the right caches . Blue Birdie GCY8PD is an hour each way if you are fit and Departure dragon yellow GCH2QR is about an hour return, so these may look close to everything but the terrain is the killer. We are local so if you want a list of the ones to go for give us a message and we will work something out. Ta Searchwise015 Quote
