exporting Google Earth points to Mapsource

Recommended Posts

I have located some trails that I want to track or set waypoints on and then transfer them to Mapsource and then to my Garmin. Is there any way to do this?

Yes, you can trace a path and then save the path as a .kml or .kmz file that can be converted to a .gpx that MapSourse will open.

You can convert the Google Earth file with sorfware such as GPS Babel and even send it directly to your GPS if wanted.

Here is a TOPO layer for Google Earth for Canada that might come in handy:

GpsBabel did not work for me, but from your lead, I googled "kml to GPX" and found this app.

KMLToGPX Converter 2.0

It worked for me. Thanks for the lead and the topo overlay is very cool. It might come in handy.
