lrosell Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 I'm waiting for updates on this story to see if any cachers were involved. story Probably not. A cacher would have stuffed an ammo box up.... in there...... Quote
KoosKoos Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 It does start to question the argument that geocachers make that no one would ever place a pipe bomb in the middle of the woods just to "blow up a tree". If dead chickens and the sides of our roads aren't safe...where CAN we go??? I am curious though...was a this a dead chicken the pipe bomber found and was just going to clear with the bomb? or was it a cleaned chicken that they bought at the store and were bombing with raw meat??? A very odd story all the way around. Quote
derangedlunatech Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 This story was worth it just for the line "the Hartford Police Department's bomb squad came and blew up the chicken." Quote
PrincessBTigress Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 This story was worth it just for the line "the Hartford Police Department's bomb squad came and blew up the chicken." Yes! That part made me laugh. Maybe just invisioning chicken shrapnel like supper gone wrong, I guess! lol Quote
flask Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 maybe it's just me, but i really like this sentence: The road was closed while the Hartford Police Department's bomb squad came and blew up the chicken. Quote
DaFunkyFrogs Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 "but officer, I TOLD her not to make chicken for dinner AGAIN this week.........................." Quote
Team GeoBlast Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 maybe it's just me, but i really like this sentence: The road was closed while the Hartford Police Department's bomb squad came and blew up the chicken. Now.. that is going to upset some chicken lovers. Quote
nikcap Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 This story was worth it just for the line "the Hartford Police Department's bomb squad came and blew up the chicken." Wait, I thought they blew up the chicken-man in Philly last night? Quote
wandering4cache Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 (edited) We are having a heatwave here in New England. Too hot to cook in the house. I got a late start on making dinner so I thought I would....... but oh dear, now that you'll all have found out, I'll need to invite you. I don't think there will be enough to go around after I manage to find all the pieces by the roadside. Edited June 10, 2008 by wandering4cache Quote

If dead chickens and the sides of our roads aren't safe...where CAN we go??? According to the handy dandy book of places where bombs are placed there is no where that we can get away from them. However some places are a bit higher risk. Quote
The Pathman Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I feel sorry for the chicken. Getting treated that way and then getting blown up Quote
KoosKoos Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I feel sorry for the chicken. Getting treated that way and then getting blown up Hey, whatever reason he had for crossing that road, it's not my place to judge. Quote
DaFunkyFrogs Posted June 11, 2008 Author Posted June 11, 2008 I bet the bomb squad is still cracking up over this one, I know I laugh every time I think about it! There's just something too funny about blowing up a chicken........ Quote
Moore9KSUcats Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 I realize they say not to put food items IN the cache........ maybe this was a new way of getting around that restriction? Quote
