+crockett3663
Welcome!! It's always good to have new cachers join our ranks!! I'm rather new to the sport myself, so I'm certainly no expert, but from what I understand, pretty much any GPS can be used for caching. The biggest difference is the amount of "bells and whistles" that your particular unit has. I am unfamiliar with the model number of your Garmin, but it's obviously a great brand name so I don't think you'll have any problems. Good Luck, Have fun, Be safe, and again, welcome aboard!!! +TazDevil091102
If you can put coords in it it could but being a Streetpilot, I doult that you could. That GPSr sound like it's more for street Nav. Quote Link to comment
+El Diablo
I have a 500 Street Pilot and there are no way of entering coordinates. So no it can't be used. El Diablo Quote Link to comment
ctJodi
I have the Garmin Streetpilot c340. Can this be used for Geocaching? Thanks Del I have the same one and it can be used, but it's complicated. First, go to google Earth and punch in the coordinates. Save that to your desktop. That will be saved as a .kmz file, so you'll need to download a converter program. (you can google that -- there's a couple of decent converters out there). After you've done that, use Garmin's POI loader to put the coordinates into your GPS and save as a favorite. Phew! I did it a couple times and it worked, but I'm going to invest in an eTrex, i think. Much simpler. Quote Link to comment

But why try to hammer a square peg into a round hole? Just get an inexpensive hand held and let the Streetpilot bring you to the parking area Quote Link to comment
