+mikenfer
I'm interested in the Colorado 300 for a variety of reasons, one of which is using it in the car. While I realize it doesn't have voice prompts like a Nuvi, it is my understanding that you can use it to go from one city to the next. My questions are these: does the Colorado have (show?) points of interest like gas stations, restaurants and such? Or is this a function of the software you install on the Colorado? I'm less interested in topo maps (for now) as I want to use this for auto-navigation (travelling), geocaching and family hikes. Thanks, GPSNewbie Quote Link to comment
+Red90
It is a function of the maps you install. POIs come with the maps. It is basically like a low end Nuvi with no voice prompts. Quote Link to comment
+qlenfg
...And you must buy a routable map. If you are in the U.S., CNNA 2008 NT works great. You get visual prompts of upcoming turns, basic directions and a very pathetic beep. Its a good setup for occasional road trips, but I would go with a more automotive style unit if you need the voice prompts, touch screen, etc... Quote Link to comment
