K4HHA Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) Loaded GSAK, selected several hundred items to download, created the file, but when I open this file with several hundred caches GSAK will only load 20. I'm really not sure if it is 20 that is in my big list or not, but probable is. I have deleted all waypoints, logs, etc than I think would be limiting the file load to 20 with no luck. Have searched all the stuff in GSAK program, but cannot find anywhere that would limit number of caches to load. It is probably something real simple, but I am pulling my hair (what' left!) out on this!! TIF!!!! Edited May 26, 2008 by K4HHA Quote
PDOP's Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Are you using Pocket Queries received via email which will contain up to 500 caches? It sounds like you may be downloading directly from the preview pages on the website. Quote
K4HHA Posted May 26, 2008 Author Posted May 26, 2008 No, I am not using Pocket Queries. I put in several lists, but have not yet got an e-mail from the server. I generated the file from the preview lists on geocaching.com. Thanks for your help... Quote
cgtfh Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Are you using a registered version of GSAK? I think the unregistered version is limited to number of caches. Quote
SparkyInCali Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Since it sounds like you used the checkboxes on gc.com to download the loc files you will only get 20 per file you have to do it once for each page.Even if you do multiple pages before selecting download waypoints it will only send the first 20.I am suprised you havent recieved the querys yet any time I submit a new one I have it with 10mins or so. +Miragee Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 No, I am not using Pocket Queries. I put in several lists, but have not yet got an e-mail from the server. I generated the file from the preview lists on geocaching.com. Thanks for your help... After checking to make sure the Preview returns the caches you expect to get, you have to check the box for the day the PQ is to run. If I haven't requested a PQ for several days, it should run within a few minutes and arrive in your InBox quickly, unless your ISP is blocking the file. The PQ that is sent to you contains the .gpx files which have more data than the .loc files you get from the individual Search pages. I get several "Date Placed" PQs and load all of those into GSAK. After the database has been refreshed, I do the "Last .gpx Update" filter to find any caches that did not update. Those are the ones that were either "Archived" or "Disabled" since the last database refresh. I delete those to keep "stale" data from getting into my GPSr and Palm. Quote
LifeOnEdge! Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 You can read directly from the My Pocket Queries page, down the right-hand column when the pocket query was generated. These sound like new requests so "never" will appear in that column if they have yet to be generated. Otherwise, a date and time will appear: 5/26/2008 10:51:20 AM As Miragee states, the Preview Pocket Query icon/link will give you a list of the data. You have data there and can determine what's going on. If "never" appears instead of a date and time, check the query itself and make sure a day of the week is checked. If you never checked on, you never initiated the PQ. Its quite possible that your query general no results. This is easier to do than you would first imagine. You can I you check both boxes (left AND right) in the conditional section, you're asking it to show you something that fits both conditions which are opposites, so "none" is the result. With pocket query requests, first keep it simple and then grow on what you know. Quote
K4HHA Posted May 27, 2008 Author Posted May 27, 2008 You called it.... no box checked on day of the week!!!!!!!!! Quote
pppingme Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 Are you using a registered version of GSAK? I think the unregistered version is limited to number of caches. The unregistered version just forces splash screens with annoying timers. It is otherwise fully functional. I think your thinking of cachemate? Quote
