I have received: None.

I have discovered: One.

I have seen a few in collections, however didn't see any tracking numbers on those... (or perhaps I lost the tracking #?... D'oh!).

I've also seen a few pop up on e-bay, but alas, they typically go for a lot more than I can afford.

I guess it's all still a Mystery to me.

It really does make you smile when someone you don't know takes the time to send you a special gift. I never expected to receive this coin, but it feels like a welcome of sorts to the geocoin community. The mystery coiners are just plain awesome.

Have to Agree 100% with Team Amaroo :blink::D

We have been bitten very hard by the geo-coin bug, won a couple and purchased quite a few, but the best ones of all are the surprises that you never expect.

We are thankful for them all!

I can't remember if I own any others. They kind of lost their appeal when they stopped being placed in caches.

I have to disagree with this.

The coins that we have received in the mail, (free and clear gifts), are very special to me, and mean so much more.

Absolutely - of course it's cool to find them in caches but there are a whole bunch of folk that would never ever get the chance of receiving a mystery coin had they not been sent in the mail. Thank you mystery coiners for all the smiles you bring to folk.

Ahh, that wasn't intended as a question, lol.

Do I sense a little personal postal bias? <_<

Silly question...What's a mystery geocoin and who sends them??

A mystery coin is a coin that someone (or a group of someones) place in caches, mail out or add to donation tables at events anonymously. They are probably distributed in other ways as well.

They are a gift (swag) if you find one in a cache. Consider a coin about $8-10 value when trading for a mystery coin in a cache.

Someone placed a GeoJedi right in front of us on one of our tables at GWVI in California last summer and we have no idea who did it. That's the fun part! We have no idea how long it was sitting there for before one of us saw it.

Well....Wow....that idea seems the best idea ever! hehe I'm getting to know more and more about this sport and loving it even more! Ok, excited now. My next project is to learn about events and maybe attend one when I can. :D Thanks for the info! :)

Hi there! Can anyone tell me the name of a particular mystery geocoin? It has a smiling jack-o-lantern on one side and Happy Haunting Geo-boos & gouls on the other. These are done in glow in the dark orange paint. There is no number on it. I found this in a local cache, and some seasoned cachers here in Denver think it's definitely a mystery coin, but noone seems to know what it's called. I have pictures, but can't seem to add them to this post (I'll try to add them to my geocaching profile if possible). I'd appreciate any info you all can share! Thanks!!

I'm up to four now!

Name of Mystery Geocoin: The Wizard - Quality Control

Method Obtained: event

While talking to a group of people at a recent event, and showing off some of my own coins, someone tapped me on the shoulder and handed me a coin. He said it was a Landsharkz quality control coin. I had no idea what that meant, so I looked at it briefly and pocketed it. I thanked him and noticed that he still had a handful.

I am fairly sure that the giver was not 'the wizard', especially since another one was received at an event in Las Vegas just a few days later!

The funny thing was that I didn't even clue in that it was a mystery coin until the thread appeared here on the forums! :)
