+BellisClan
I have recently had to move a cache due to the locals finding it on more than one occasion. Have found a perfect spot but when logging the new coords I am told that it is too far away!! What is the maximum distance that a cache can be moved and is there any flexibility in this distance? Also if I want to use the new location how can I get the new coords to work? Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
There is a limit of .1 mile (528 feet). Beyond that you need to ask your reviewer to change them for you, but some people will argue that a move of that much makes it a new cache and you should just archive the old one and submit a new one. +StarBrand
If it is beyond what you can change in a log entry then it really should get a new listing and new GC number. New cache container in a completely new spot equals a new Geocache. Quote Link to comment
+PhxChem
If it's the same container with basically the same hide, I would ask the reviewer to change it for you. However, if the location is different enough (or hiding in a different type of spot) it might make sense to archive the original cache, and create a new page. Quote Link to comment
