What is in your caching Bag?

I'm probably in the minority here, but I set out with the clothes on my back and whatever fits into my pockets. A GPS obviously, and I also consider my camera and a few writing implements to be an absolute requirement. Sometimes a travel bug or geocoin, but that's really about it for me.

This comes up often enough that I once emptied my pack out and took a picture:

Depending on where and what I'm doing, it could be either of the above.

You have to have a magnic and string in that bag for the hard to get to caches like micros dropped into fence poles. We have several caches in my area that you need tricky items like that to get them out.

I carry this in my Geopack...

Here are the specs from Craftsman:

Lifts 16 lbs. and telescopes from 9 to 34-1/4 in. Goblet-shaped head shields sides of magnet from attaching to unwanted surfaces. 2-1/4 in. diameter mirror with metal base mounts in seconds. Cushion-textured pistol; grip will not slip in wet or oily hands. Double-angle ball joint adjusts 360 degrees and holds mirror in a desirable position.

I frequently spend a lot of quality time with trees when looking for caches hidden in them. I recently added to my bag an "official" identification badge reflecting that I am an Aboreal Numericist (Tree Counter). Photoshop is an amazing program. Now, I can wear this and people will understand I've got a job (of some sort) to do.

I also carry some "Caution" tape so I can rope off areas where I need to search and thus show I'm hard at work. And, I carry some empty bullet casings, that I can pick up on the end of a pen or pencil, to show I've found the evidence I need. And, I carry some "replica" subpoenas that I need to serve ... for when I'm wandering around residential areas. (These kind of things are often easier than explaining geocaching.)

My husband will go with me caching on occasion so 1 day when we were getting ready to leave & I grabbed my bag. Our neighbor, who was over chatting with hubby asked (as he was looking at my husband) "what's your bag?" well my husband nodded his towards towards me & very straight faced said 'she is'.

What a guy!

Well our neighbor about fell off the deck laughing.
