+A.T.Hiker Posted April 24, 2008 Share Posted April 24, 2008 There have been a few topics about issues with this unit, including one started by me. Note, my software version is 2.60/2.60. Sometimes, the unit is reliable. They have corrected the odometer issue, and the GPS elevation is correct sometimes. However, on two hikes in recent days, I am noticing the compass doing complete 180 degree spins and then back again, all while walking in the same direction. On the map screen, the arrow also spins wildly, making determining direction and dizzying experience! It's as if I am quickly and completely reversing direction of travel. When stopped, the direction is easier to determine as the compass is more stable. Anyone else notice this? On both occasions, the compass was correctly calibrated and the setup is correct. It's very annoying. Even though I like the unit, and these issues can be dealt with, I feel like we are in "Beta test" mode. Quote Link to comment
