+fam.bergum Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 My nine year old boy came to me with a coin design a couple of weeks ago.... I was amazed, we sat down for several days with the pantone book and illustrator. Samples: The gecko98 name came from the fact that he loves indoor climbing as well as geocaching. The coins will be 1" micros. Quote
+XopherN71 Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 (edited) I'm envious... I can design, I just can't afford Looks great, where will the tracking number be? Where it says Gecko98? And how cool is that, to turn a 9 year old's illustration into something like a coin... awesome! Edited April 18, 2008 by XopherN71 Quote
+grodan & fiabus Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Kjempeflott!! Very nice coin. So nice to make him a coin from the drawing. I mostly collect animalshaped coins but I can always make an exception, there is an animal on so I think I´ll have to get this. grodan Quote

I hope I can trade for one. Quote
+fam.bergum Posted April 19, 2008 Author Posted April 19, 2008 $8.49 for a micro is really pricey. I hope I can trade for one. Yep, I have reduced the price to 7.70. I did a typo when I calculated the tax. But I can assure that there will not be much money left when the international shipping plus Norwegian tax is payed. Quote
+fairyhoney Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 These are Very cute and nice! Is the icon Unique or common? Quote
lorca.nl Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 he is a real artist it`s a really nice coin.... Quote
+AtlantaGal Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Would still like to trade for a black nickel one. $6 US is the most I'll pay for a 1" coin. Quote

The geotags I sell are 1.25" at $4 and even if you needed a personal mold it would be a bit more than $5 for 1.25". Good luck, I like the design and hope to trade for one as well. Quote

The mint charges 5.49 per coin. Then as we live in Norway we have to tax 25% on everything. That makes the difference. I pretty sure that my mint gives me the best pricing. I this is my third coin and I have asked several companies for a quote. Sometimes the price on 250 coins can have a 1000 dollar difference between mints. I'm really happy with "mine" ,great price and very good service. I'm rely sorry that some of you find it pricey, but I cant sell them with a loss. I hope we can close the discussion about the cost now. If the demand is as low as it seems the total mint will be 100 coins. In that case a icon would break the budget. I'm really sorry for this.
