+jgngg
I've never participated in a CITO event, but LOVE the idea. Do CITO events have to be in parks or can they be in small hamlets/towns. My town's Chamber of Commerce is going "Green" and are planning a town beautification day where they have residents and business owners work together to help clean up the town and make it... beautiful! I would love to offer this option and have people visit out quaint town and our geocaches! Plus half of the town is a park which needs some clean up too! I would love any advice that someone could offer as to if this is looked down upon and should only be done in parks. Thanks! JGNGG Quote Link to comment
+MissJenn
The first step is to choose an area that is important to you; an area that you think needs extra attention. This may be a roadside clean-up, for example. That is not a park. If you are unsure about which location is best, call a local park manager or geocaching organization. They can provide assistance and support in selecting the best location. And remember that CITO Events are set up and sponsored by geocachers – not by other organizations. If you have an event you feel fits within the spirit of this unique category, yet are still unsure, please seek permission from Groundspeak before submitting. Quote Link to comment
+joranda
You can pick anyplace you want that may need a helping hand. It's all about cleaning planet earth. I always have mine at the local town park where I grew up at and still live there today. To me, it's about giving back. Quote Link to comment
