In trying to streamline my device I tried to delete my Recreational profile and somehow my Automotive one went away instead.

Can someone post theirs or email it to me please?

I've recreated it but not sure if that's the same as the original... if so, no need I guess.

Thanks for any info/help you can provide.

If you do not want to loose data

do it this way

create new profile call it automotive

personailse it with the car tyre tracks etc

job done

you can make any profile you like a have a bike and sailing profile

there will be no difference from a created one to original if you personalise it to suit

after all you can personalise the original

Thanks.

I got an email with a link to an original one just in case, just wasn't sure if there was aome special coding in the OEM profiles or not.

Did you know you can add your own background images?

yes seen that when you look in garmin folder you see profile folder 1st thing I tried was adding my own jpeg and renaming it to an existing one

I used the Clouds bmp converted to 240 400 jpeg from my windows folder I tried a few of my windows background files

I had done that with the spalsh screen on my TomTom

I then tried just adding the Jpegs

Using a light one such as the cloud scene or even just a plain coulered box helps solve my trip computer thing being too dark my own profile bike

I use the speed and distance views

I also did a jpeg of my local map that looks cool to

That is why I copied every file over to a hard drive when I got my colorado.

Yes I learned that the hard way lol I thought I was editing the sd card WHICH I HAD backed up

all my other GPS units the garmin stuff was in ROM and not accessable

I did indeed back up my unit after that and I also back up quite often now too

Why would you want to delete a profile?

Less clutter and I have no need for a 'recreation' profile.

Then what about the Marine profile? Seems silly to me since the

recreational profile is useful to have should you want to hike etc, besides, the 400t has plenty of space on it and I doubt if the profile takes much of it. Profiles are one of the most useful features of the Colorado series and I use them. Are you short of space on your 400?

Some people probably don't want to have to SPIN through so many icons, with the R&R Wheel.
