error message

I have been working on this for hours.

I have a new pharos traveler 535 pda with built in gps.

I have the Ostia maps loaded.

I finally updated the pda to the newer version of .net so that is done.

Now, when I start Wherigo, error message comes up saying "error starting gps, check the settings. No gps device could be found matching NMEA-0183. Make sure gps is powered on and paired with bluetooth"

I don't have a bluetooth, mine is all in one.

Can anyone help me?

thanks

It's not quite the same device, but you may want to give a shot to the steps in this post. No guarantees, and I haven't got such a device to test with myself, but maybe you'll get lucky and figure something out. Good luck!

This error usually means that the gps device is being used and therefore locked by another application.

Now I can run the map software no problem and the Wherigo player, no problem. BUT, I CAN'T RUN THEM BOTH AT SAME TIME. I tried the COM4 PORT in Wherigo, it only runs on com8. I can't run both at same time.

Is Wherigo susposed to work with a map program so you can use the maps to go to the next step?

I just did out first Wherigo tonight and all i could use was the player and just got an arrow and distance to find the next clue or step. Like using a old garmen with just an error, worked out ok, but would be nice to follow a map.

This is the same error I got with my mogul until I figured out how to correct the problem as you can see here

Thank you, how can I get it to run both at same time?
