In recognition of the 2008 Opening Day At Lake Tahoe, there will be a celebration held on June 28th and 29th, 2008 in South Lake Tahoe. This 2-day event will identify unique locations on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe that will highlight the best that the area has to offer. From the waterfront to the mountain trails, you'll leave no stone unturned for this one-of-a-kind event located in a world-class destination. This open event is geared toward anyone who wishes to learn more about GPS units and geocaching as an activity, and for expierenced geocachers.

Once you have finished your search, return to the starting point with your treasure map indicating which locations you visited. You will recieve one raffle ticket for each location marked as visited or found on your treasure map. The raffle and celebration will be held at a location to be announced as soon as the final details are completed. Additional information will be posted here and on the cache page as it is available.

This event was so fun last year! If you have the opportunity, please come! There were so many people in South Lake Tahoe last year, it just added to the fond memories :) ! It's an awesome opportunity to do a little caching and a little sight-seeing in one of the United States' prettiest places.

Lots of hotels near as well as campgrounds. Water activities, hiking, biking, Jeepin', bowling, you name it, they got it. Lots of cool prizes are given away as well. And did I mention "FREE"!

Hope to see a bunch of caching faces in Tahoe!
