+Ble68 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Here is the artwork for a coin I am minting. There will be 100 made. I am waiting for samples from the mint, when I get them I will post them here for everyone to see. I will choose the metal when I see the samples. If this goes well and people want more, I would be happy to do another round as a pre-order. They will be around $13 including shipping. Interested in feedback and would be happy to answer questions! +DaFunkyFrogs Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Beautiful! We would be very interested in these. Love the shape. Quote
+tsunrisebey Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Congrat's on getting your 1st personal coin How exciting! Peacocks are beautiful birds... should turn out real pretty. Too funny though, I know I had the peacock coin design discussion with someone else a couple weeks back, lol. Wonder if more will be showing up? Quote
+fairyhoney Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 OH Ble68, Your coin is Very nice. I guess with you only sellinng 100, there won't be an unique icon. Is the coin "smooth" or "textured"? Quote
+PengoFamily Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Very nice Ble! I too was discussing doing a peacock design. LOL Can't wait to see sample photos. Quote
+AtlantaGal Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 (edited) I already know of two other peacock coins in sampling, but neither are a personal coin. Edited April 1, 2008 by AtlantaGal Quote
+LadeBear68 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I almost didn't click on this thread because I thought, great another silly April Fool's joke. Very nice design Ble68, I love the sun. Quote
+fairyhoney Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I already know of two other peacock coins in sampling, but neither are a personal coin. The more, the merrier. Especially if they are shaped Quote

+ThePetersTrio Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 OH Ble68, Your coin is Very nice. I guess with you only sellinng 100, there won't be an unique icon. There was another thread recently where someone said you can now get an icon for 100 coins. I don't know if this was ever confirmed or not though. Lovely coin. Great idea. Quote
+ArtieD Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I love it, Ble! Great design...I hope I can get my hands on one! It sure looks like the peacock is a popular idea...congrats on hitting it first! Quote

It's still 250 as far as I know...and I asked for assurance as I'm currently having a coin made! Quote
+Vanelle Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 It's just great. I like the stylistic artwork very much. I would be interested in trade or purchase. Quote
+donorgirl Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Would love to trade or purchase since my daughter's caching name is peacockskeketon. Quote

+tadpole379 Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 They came out beautiful!! I like the Gold one the best, but they are both very nice Quote
+keewee Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 W O W Can't decide which I like the best..... probably the Black Nickel... but only just. They look awesome. Congratulations. Quote
+Frank n Beck Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 We like the BN version. The design turned out great! Nice job! Quote
+Toojin Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I like the black nickel from the pictures, but if I were you I would wait to pick metals until you have the samples in your paws. Last time I didn't wait, the coins in hand were entirely different than in pictures and I would have chosen differently. Nice looking coin! Quote
+ThePetersTrio Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Both! But the gold is my favorite of the 2. But I want both! Quote
+AtlantaGal Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 They're both nice, but from the photos, the text seems to stand out much better with the gold. Silver nickel might also be nice as far as contrast. I don't know if you saw a sample of it though. Quote
thekimballs Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 It's a beautiful coin. Can I be a downer (a downer and a professional proofreader and editor) and say that the sentence is not grammatically correct? Should be It is beauty that captures your attention, personality that captures your heart OR It is beauty that captures your attention; personality captures your heart Now that you have the samples, if the wording can't be changed I am sure only those of us who are persnickety grammar mavens will notice. But if it can easily be changed, all the English majors will thank you! Quote

We are not talking about "beauty" but the "peacock" "It's" = "peacock's beauty" so it does seem correct grammar, just shortened to fit. Quote

+0R0B0RUS Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 I thought I was mostly a BN kinda guy, but recently, I've been liking the gold finishes. I bet this would look great in an antique silver or polished nickel as well. Quote
+KrazyTrollz Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 they are both beautiful, my fave would have to be the BN though, I love BN and copper coins! Nice Job! Quote
+Nochipra Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Very cool coin! Gonna have to get some of these too! There goes my money again! Quote
+Little'n Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 They're both very pretty but I think I like the gold one better. Quote
+Ble68 Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 I got the samples in the mail today! The gold looks much better! Those pictures don't do the coin justice. In the BN you can't read the words and everything looks extremely dark. I plan on minting it in gold but was wondering if there was interest in silver... Quote
