+pklong
I see someone has decided to start up yet another nationwide micro cache series: Bus Stop Boredom. How are we motorists going to keep up our find count? After all there are only so many motorway junctions and supermarkets. We need a new series, maybe Speed Camera Sillyness or Parking Meter Menace? +PopUpPirate
Hey, at least Bus Stop Bewilderment has rules http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...ba-dbb42cbc6eee And yes it IS done with irony!!! (Linked to a Hopper equivalent because whilst I have got one out there, I can't cache advertise). Quote Link to comment
+The Cache Hoppers
You snitch PuP! I thought we were keeping that quiet! Quote Link to comment
+HazelS
I like the rules... I started to fear awful micros under bins...... Quote Link to comment
+currykev
How about a series based on waiting for your airplane baggage. You could call it "a VERY long wait at T5!!" Quote Link to comment
+Delta68
The Bus Stop series would be pretty good actually if they are all shelters of architectural interest. A quick Google revealed one in Dunchurch (Warwickshire but nowhere near us ) which is a Grade 2 listed building... any takers? Quote Link to comment
+Kelsborrow Wayfinders
And yes it IS done with irony!!! Could someone explain the difference between an ironic cache and a non-ironic cache? It strikes me it's still a cache by a bus shelter. Perhaps there should be a Bus Stop Bewilderment Ironic Series and Bus Stop Bewilderment Non-Ironic Series. Quote Link to comment
+Dorsetgal & GeoDog
Whilst I think this sounds like fun, I am deeply saddened the series is not to be called "On The Buses" Quote Link to comment

+Gralorn
The Gowenhouse Bus Stop Boredom cache was done purely as an 'April Fool' and not in any serious vein at all. It seems to have back fired though unfortunately as there are others which have been put out it seems as serious caches. It's only a game...................... Quote Link to comment

+Donmoore
I was so tempted to do a series of bus stop caches in N. Ireland as my old job was to build and maintain them but as i no longer work for the company as they are scumbags i think i'll not bother. Quote Link to comment

+martlakes
Well, bus shelters can be wonderful sometimes - Which can be found on the dark side: Life Under Water Newby Bridge I've also already got a bus related cache, which is still waiting for the FTF by bus! At the risk of shameless cache promotion, it can be found here: !!!! (surely you didn't expect to get away with that - Lacto) Like every cache I guess it all depends on the location. Ding, ding Edited April 3, 2008 by Lactodorum Quote Link to comment
+The HERB5
Like every cache I guess it all depends on the location. I thought that was the whole point of a cache. Obviously not. The trouble with a series is that all get caches where only a portion are worth visiting. Quote Link to comment

Anyway, I'm not particularly bothered about a bus series or not and not here to defend them, just thought I'd share a couple of examples of bus related things that are quite interesting. Of course, one could equally say that the problem with traditional caches is that only a portion are worth visiting. Same with size of containers, some micros are great some aren't, some regulars are great some aren't. I agree though that a specific series may encourage people to set some naff caches that they might not otherwise have thought of. Hopefully, our fellow cachers will exercise restraint and only seek out exceptional locations to entertain passengers in their (long) wait. Quote Link to comment

Well don't do any of the series if you object to them. They are no different to any other cache, whether it's been lobbed out of a car window, or thougtfully placed. Can't see any of us are in a position to object. It's a game. Quote Link to comment

+Gowenhouse
As Gralorn has said the Bus Stop Boredom cache was an April Fool taking the mickey out of the MM series and Sidetracked series. I am certainly not continuing with the series and can't quite believe there is already a series re Bus Stops started out there. Anyway for all those who fell for it HA HA. We are in the process of a vote at present on the cache whether to keep or archive. Edited April 8, 2008 by Gowenhouse Quote Link to comment
