We found out first few hundred with Legends. We liked them a lot and only upgraded because we wanted autorouting. We kept out old units and lend them to guests who cache with us or friends who want to try caching on their own.

They are great starter gps units. I got Legends to use in my science classroom because they are tough, reliable, and easy to use (so easy to show students how to use). I hope you enjoy your new gps and find many caches with it.

Well, I just got a GPS for my birthday acually and am wondering if it's good in your opinions. It's a Garmin eTrex Legend, hooks up to the computer with a USB, I believe it was about 150$ ish. What do you think?

You will have a great time with the Legend. Great GPS. Is it the Cx or the HCx? I cached for several years with only the original yellow eTrex. I just purchased a Legend HCx for my birthday. It will do the auto routing, just doesn't have the compass or barometric altimeter, which I do not need. Now I just have to save the bucks and get the maps.
