+Labtech28
Is it possible to attach a micro cache (ie bison tube) to a travel bug and have it as a roving geocache. so it would be bothe a trackable item and geocache. Quote Link to comment

Those are not allowed anymore, but I have seen TBs that you can sign. Quote Link to comment
+Labtech28
do you know why they stopped them? it seems a realy good idea. i only had the idea because i was shamlessly copying an TB that i had picked up, and thought this would be even better if you could count it as a find. plus it solves the problem of getting the land owners permission. O-Mega
I am not sure of the reason but there are a few that have been grandfathered. Now, you can always send out the TB with cache like contents but it will not be able to be logged as a cache, only a TB. Quote Link to comment
+Labtech28
its not quite the same as sending out a geocache, maby i will come up with another creative cache and this time it might be original. Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
I've found for or five moving caches. I think they're great! maby i will come up with another creative cache and this time it might be original. Is it possible to come up with an original creative idea? But, go for it! +Wadcutter
I ran across one traveling cache a couple of years ago. The cache owner quit the game so it became just traveling junk. No one was able to update the cache page. The coords were left in the logs but the cache didn't show up on the local map. I just stumbled upon it. Quote Link to comment

Oh boy, that's a good one. Not only why they stopped them, but when? I'll bet it was pretty early on, about the time virtuals were eliminated. Did a quick forum search, and didn't come up with anything. Personally, I've found only one, and it was hundreds of miles from my home coords in another State (and to stay put within the State I found it in). There are other geocaching websites that accept moving caches, and I've seen several geocaching organizations who track thier own local moving caches on their websites. I still think a TB with cache-like contents would be pretty cool. Quote Link to comment
+NikkiPoooo
http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...ba-9edfe23f230e The finds were logged just like any other cache though it appears to have gone missing over a year ago. Quote Link to comment
Keystone
it solves the problem of getting the land owners permission. Actually, it complicates the problem. I can recall several examples where a moving cache was placed in an area where geocaches were either regulated or banned. The listing service stopped publishing new moving caches in spring of 2003. The existing ones are grandfathered but their numbers are dwindling as either the containers or their owners go missing. Quote Link to comment

I have found Oakland Transit half a dozen times or so in the past. The cache owner is the last one to have picked it up, and still has it. Since he hasn't cached in a few years, I'm assuming he doesn't plan to hide it again. Several of us have tried emailing him about adopting it since there are so few of them, but all emails go unanswered. Quote Link to comment

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think grandfathered caches can be adopted. That is why the numbers are dwindling like they are. Quote Link to comment
