In other words, a magician!

Magicians are the most honest liars. We tell you we are going to lie to you, we lie to you, and you still believe us!

Isn't it amazing what people will give you money to do???

Oh, I also do weird and despicable things to poor, innocent balloons...

My official title is "Programmer Analyst Specialist". My unofficial title is "Programmer/Analyst/Technology Strategist". I work for the Agriculture and Life Sciences library at Cornell University. As a technology strategist I research and evaluate new software technologies for potential use by our department. I have a couple of niches in which I work as a Programmer/Analyst. I do quite a bit of work in the open source community for higher education (primarily with an organization called JA-SIG) and I also develop web applications for the Agriculture and primarily the International Agriculture area. It is that role that I have been able to do a bit of travel and seek caches far from home, including a recent trip to South Africa and Zambia. I am undertaking a new project that will could likely result in future trips to Africa.

For the last 25 years I've been with the Canadian Forces, 4 as a Reservist and 21 as a Mobile Support Equipment Operator ($50 government word for a Professional Driver) which means if it has wheels or tracks and a motor I can drive it  .

I am a special education teacher - high school level. Have been for over thirty years. I am also a semi-pro photographer - mostly landscape and fine art prints, some portraits (but I don't do weddings). When I retire from teaching in a few years I will do my photography full time. (I do enjoy combining caching with my photography road trips).

County government - geographic information systems coordinator. I also do some consulting on the side. Maps are my life.

I am a nickle miner for the largest nickle producer in the world in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

I think my car (hybrid) has some of your nickel in its batteries.

Reformed special ed teacher turned "Clinic Assistant" in rehab med clinic (think rehab like post-stroke or post-car accident, not Amy Winehouse).

Waiting for a school to let me in so I can become something that's paid a little more.

It's actually interesting to read all of these...

I spend 9 months of the year instructing teenage persons how to use the computer and various seasons providing encouragement and information concerning sport-specific technique to same said teenage persons. I do all of this in a facility that is said to be secure but is really not, listening to lay-persons tell me how to do my job more effectively and not giving me the tools to do so.

yes, I am a teacher/wrestling, football, pole-vault coach in a public high school. :)

In the summer I take high school athletes to athletic camps and do some handy-man jobs on the side.

I'm a warehouse manager for a small organic health food company. At work I rescue small food grade cylindrical containers (about 6" long and 3" diameter) that would otherwise get thrown out. I take them to event caches and give them away as cache containers, they've been really popular!

This entity sells beer and cigarettes to college students.

This entity is weekend graveyard at a C-Store on a college campus.

This entity wishes not for your pity, just send it money.

This entity also does freelance metal work for a local supplier of fire toys. (www.flammaaeterna.com)

This entity will likely also begin working part time for said company doing base assembly work.

This entity longs to be a pyrotechnician, but presently lacks the skills to get in to that field.

Soon-to-be former gov't aircraft maintainer...weapons load/release, sheetmetal fabricator, survival equipment maintainer and most recently the structural repair shop chief. F-15's, F-4D & E's, KC-135E & R's. 27 years and it'll be over in the next month or so. Long strange trip.

Looks as if the next career description goes something like: a geo-caching canoeist specializing in steelhead and fluke fishing, happily touring on the H-D collecting fossils.

I'm ~really~ hoping that gainful employment will not be neccesary. Looks good so far...
